International Animal Epidemic Situation Update Weekly: 78 Outbreaks of African Swine Fever Reported
According to the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on April 8, 2025, from March 31 to April 4, 2025, a total of 9 countries reported 78 outbreaks of African swine fever, among which 12 outbreaks were of African swine fever involving domestic pigs.  
The specific situation is as follows:  
1.Five outbreaks of African swine fever among wild boars and two among domestic pigs have occurred in Ukraine.  
On March 31st and April 3rd and 4th, Ukraine reported five cases of African swine fever among wild boars and two cases among domestic pigs in five locations including Vinnytsia Region. Ten wild boars and 35 domestic pigs died from the disease.
2. Croatia reported one case of African swine fever among wild boars.  
On March 31st, Croatia reported an outbreak of African swine fever among wild boars in Vukovar-Srijem, with 4 wild boars infected and dying.  
3. There were 11 outbreaks of African swine fever among wild boars and 1 outbreak among domestic pigs in Serbia.  
On April 1st, Serbia reported 11 cases of African swine fever among wild boars and 1 case among domestic pigs in three locations including Nan Baantai County. 44 wild boars and 1 domestic pig died from the disease.  
4. 12 outbreaks of African swine fever occurred in Hungary.  
On April 2nd, Hungary reported 12 cases of African swine fever outbreak among wild boars in Komarom District and other three areas. 12 wild boars were infected and died.  

5. There were 18 outbreaks of African swine fever among wild boars in Italy.  
On April 2nd, Italy reported 18 cases of African swine fever outbreak among wild boars in four regions including Emilia-Romagna. 18 wild boars were infected and died.  
6. One outbreak of African swine fever occurred in wild boars and another one in domestic pigs in Moldova.  
On April 3rd, Moldova reported that there were two outbreaks of African swine fever in the Cahul District and another place. Two wild boars and one domestic pig were infected and died.  
7. An outbreak of African swine fever occurred in Greece.  
On April 3rd, Greece reported an outbreak of African swine fever among wild boars in Florina Province. One wild boar was infected and died.  
8. In Romania, there were 6 outbreaks of African swine fever among wild boars and 8 outbreaks among domestic pigs.  
On April 4th, Romania reported that there were 6 cases of African swine fever among wild boars and 8 cases among domestic pigs in 5 areas including Timisoara County. 23 wild boars died after being infected, 84 domestic pigs were infected and 25 died, and 2423 pigs were culled.  
9. Eleven cases of African swine fever outbreak among wild boars have been reported in Germany.  
On April 4th, Germany reported 11 cases of African swine fever outbreak among wild boars in three regions including Baden-Württemberg. Eleven wild boars were infected and died.
