International African Swine Fever Outbreak Update for the 5th Week of April 2026
1. Two cases of African swine fever in wild boars and five cases in domestic pigs reported in Serbia

On April 27, Serbia reported two cases of African swine fever in wild boars and five cases in domestic pigs in two regions, including Srem. Four wild boars died from the infection, 14 domestic pigs were infected, 11 died, and 44 were culled.

2. Italy reports 34 cases of African swine fever in wild boars

On April 27, Italy reported 34 cases of African swine fever in wild boars in two regions, including Tuscany. All 34 infected wild boars died.

3. Estonia reports 2 cases of African swine fever in wild boars

On April 27 and 29, Estonia reported 2 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars in two regions, including Lääne County, resulting in the death of 6 infected wild boars.

4. 85 Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Wild Boars in Poland

On April 27 and 29, Poland reported 85 outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars across eight regions, including Podlaskie Voivodeship, resulting in the deaths of 227 infected wild boars.

5. 11 cases of African swine fever in wild boars reported in Hungary

On April 28, Hungary reported 11 cases of African swine fever in wild boars across four regions, including Fejér County, resulting in the death of 12 infected wild boars.

6. One case of African swine fever in wild boars reported in Spain

On April 30, Spain reported one case of African swine fever in wild boars in the Autonomous Community of Catalonia, resulting in the death of 13 infected wild boars.

7. Seven cases of African swine fever in wild boars reported in Latvia

On April 29, Latvia reported 7 cases of African swine fever in wild boars across 4 locations, including Bauska County, resulting in the death of 7 infected wild boars.

8. 24 cases of African swine fever in wild boars reported in Lithuania

On April 29, Lithuania reported 24 cases of African swine fever in wild boars across 3 locations, including Tauragė County, resulting in the death of 82 infected wild boars.

9. Five Outbreaks of African Swine Fever in Wild Boars and Three in Domestic Pigs Reported in Romania

On April 30, Romania reported five outbreaks of African Swine Fever in wild boars and three in domestic pigs across three regions, including Mureș County. Eight wild boars died from the infection, while 118 domestic pigs were infected, 77 died, and 6,969 were culled.

10. One case of African swine fever in domestic pigs reported in Bhutan

On April 27, Bhutan reported one case of African swine fever in domestic pigs in Samdrup Jongkhar Dzong, resulting in the death of three infected domestic pigs.
